Capturing your newborn's first moments is one of the most beautiful experiences a you can encounter. It is a magical time filled with purity, tenderness, and a promise of new beginnings.
Understanding Newborn Portraits
Newborn portraits are not just pictures; they encapsulate emotions and memories that families will cherish forever. These portraits serve as a time capsule, transporting you back to the day when you first held your little one. Photographers play a critical role in ensuring that every tiny detail, from the baby's delicate features to the cozy environment, is captured beautifully.
A well-timed click in perfect lighting can freeze a moment in time. For example, the soft the-magic-of-photographing-life’s-first-momentscurls on a baby's head or the tiny fingers grasping a parent's thumb evoke feelings of love and warmth. This sentiment is what many families are looking for when they seek professional newborn photography services.

When Should Newborn Photos Be Taken?
Timing is essential for capturing those early moments. Generally, here at our shropshire based photography studio we prefer to schedule newborn photos within the first two weeks of birth. During this time, babies are more likely to sleep deeply and remain in those adorable curled-up positions, which are perfect for photography.
Around the 5-10 day mark is ideal for newborn portraits. After this stage, they begin to stretch out, and their features start to change. However, if you're past the first two weeks, don't fret. Great portraits can still be captured at any age, even if the baby is wide awake, we can capture beuatiful moments, it is about them after all, and if they want to show us their character from the moment they are born then we are more than happy to capture it.

Newborn photography with parents and siblings
Involving parents during the photography session can lead to more emotional and touching shots. Their interactions with the baby—whether it's a gentle kiss on the forehead or a tender touch—can add layers of depth to the photographs that you can't achieve with just the baby alone.
We encourage parents to bring items that have sentimental value, such as a family heirloom or a handmade blanket. These elements can personalize the session and make the portraits even more meaningful. We create a comfortable atmosphere where both the baby and parents feel at ease.
Capturing those early days is a privilege that will resonate through your family for generations.
Finally to edit or go for natural newborn photos
This is a personal preference which we can discuss at your personalised photo viewing session. It may be that your newborn baby scratched themselves on the morning of the shoot (you can always bank on when you have something planned for moments like to arrise with little ones!) and so you may decide you would like this removed. It is not a problem to do this, some people find that its a distraction, others prefer to leave the moment exactly how it is with no edits. The choice is yours and i can help you discover your preference.
